ADMISSION PROCEDURES – ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026

Two admission phases are foreseen:

  • Phase I – Early Admission: applications open from May 30 to July 3, 2025, for graduates and graduating students;
  • Phase II – Standard Admission: applications open from August 29 to September 11, 2025, for graduates and graduating students.

(Should any places remain available after Phases I and II, the application period will be reopened.)

For detailed information on the admission and enrolment criteria, procedures, and deadlines, please refer to the official call for applications, General Section and Annex 2.8.

Curricular Requirements

To be admitted to the Master's Degree Programme in Civil Engineering for Infrastructural Regeneration, candidates must hold:

a. an academic qualification belonging to Class L-7 in Civil and Environmental Engineering (or an equivalent degree awarded under previous regulations); candidates must also demonstrate adequate proficiency in English (at least B2 level according to the CEFR);

b. a foreign academic qualification, recognized by the Master's Degree Programme in Civil Engineering for Infrastructural Regeneration as comparable, for admission purposes only, to the required Italian degree; candidates must also demonstrate adequate proficiency in English and/or Italian (at least B2 level according to the CEFR).

The required English language proficiency (minimum B2 level CEFR) will be verified through a specific assessment test.

Verification of English Language Proficiency (equivalent to B2 level of the CEFR)

The test to verify the required English language proficiency will be conducted online:

  • For Phase I – Early Admission, on July 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., via Microsoft Teams;

  • For Phase II – Standard Admission, on September 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., via Microsoft Teams.

The test consists of answering correctly at least 3 out of 5 multiple-choice questions proposed in English by the Examination Committee, covering the following subject areas:

  1. Hydraulics and Hydraulic Constructions

  2. Geotechnics

  3. Structural Mechanics and Structural Engineering

  4. Transportation and Roads

  5. Architectural Engineering

Each question has three possible answers, only one of which is correct. The test duration is 30 minutes. The result will be expressed as "pass" / "fail". Details regarding the procedure will be explained by the Committee before the test begins.

Registration for the test is automatically included with the submission of the application for admission.
Failure to attend the test, as well as failure to pass it, will result in exclusion from further admission procedures.

Candidates must attend the test with a valid government-issued ID document.

Only candidates who already hold a recognized language certification corresponding to the required level are exempt from taking the test. In such cases, the relevant certification must be uploaded to the ESSE3 platform at the time of application submission, together with a self-declaration of conformity to the original document.

Verification of Personal Academic Preparation

The verification of the personal academic preparation of candidates who meet the curricular requirements is carried out through the evaluation of their academic records and, if necessary, an interview.

The interview, if required, will be conducted online:

  • For Phase I – Early Admission, on July 7, 2025, at 11:30 a.m., via Microsoft Teams;

  • For Phase II – Standard Admission, on September 16, 2025, at 11:30 a.m., via Microsoft Teams.

The purpose of the interview is to further assess the candidate’s knowledge in the core subject areas of Degree Class L-7 (or its equivalent under previous academic regulations) and to evaluate the candidate’s academic background.

Registration for the interview, if applicable, is automatically included with the application for admission.

The list of candidates required to attend the interview will be announced at the end of the English language proficiency test, as described in the previous section.

Failure to attend the interview, or failure to pass it, will result in exclusion from the merit ranking.

Candidates must attend the interview with a valid government-issued ID document.
